Ultimate Decades Assistant

Ultimate Decades Assistant is an unofficial companion mod for Morbid’s Ultimate Decades Challenge.

It is designed to make the challenge easier to manage directly in The Sims 4 by tracking historical time, Sim and pet historical ages, family roles, required rolls, and historical events - while leaving the actual decisions, dice rolls, and storytelling in the player’s hands.

The challenge itself uses a custom historical timeline instead of normal Sims aging, including the system of 4 Sim days = 1 historical year.

Features

Historical Calendar

Ultimate Decades Assistant brings the challenge's historical timeline directly into the game.

• 4 Sim days = 1 historical year
• 1 Sim day = 3 historical months
• Historical time progresses automatically as you play.
• The mod notifies you when a new historical year begins.

Historical Sim Ages

The mod tracks historical age separately from The Sims 4's normal aging system.

• Sims can have their own individual historical age.
• Historical ages progress automatically with the calendar.
• Newborn Sims receive a historical age automatically.
• Existing Sims can be configured manually using years and months.
• An already assigned historical age can be changed whenever needed.
• Sims in side households can retain their assigned historical ages without needing to be actively played.

Family Roles

Ultimate Decades Assistant can track the roles Sims have within each household.

• Each household can have its own Heir.
• The active Sim can be assigned as the household Heir.
• Sims can be assigned or removed as Secondary Family Members through the mailbox.
• Heirs and Secondary Family Members receive visible traits for easy identification.
• A Sim cannot be both an Heir and a Secondary Family Member at the same time.
• If a Secondary Family Member becomes the Heir, their Secondary Family Member role is removed automatically.
• Family role data is saved persistently and kept synchronized with the corresponding traits.

Pet Historical Aging

Historical age tracking is also available for dogs, cats, and horses.

• Puppies, kittens, and foals are automatically registered with a historical age of 0.
• Dogs, cats, and horses can have their historical age adjusted through Change Historical Age.
• Dogs and cats follow historical aging milestones based on the challenge rules.
• The mod provides notifications when pets reach the appropriate historical age or life-stage milestone.
• Pet birthdays and life-stage changes are displayed separately from Sims when appropriate.

Household Information

Quickly check the information relevant to the household you are currently playing, including:

• the current historical date;
• historical ages of household members;
• pets displayed separately from Sims for easier tracking.

Roll Reminders

Ultimate Decades Assistant keeps track of situations in which Morbid's challenge requires the player to make a roll.

Depending on the currently supported rules and historical period, reminders can include:

• Labor and birth rolls;
• Survival/death rolls;
• End of Life rolls;
• Secondary Family Marriage and Pregnancy rolls;
• Historical event rolls.

Roll reminders are tied to the appropriate historical life stage.

The mod tells you when a roll is required and which roll to make, but the actual dice roll and its outcome remain entirely in the player's hands.

Historical Events

Historical events are connected directly to the historical calendar and can trigger automatically when the relevant year is reached.

Depending on the event, notifications may provide:

• historical event information;
• temporary challenge restrictions;
• required actions;
• required dice rolls.

Support for additional historical periods will be added progressively as the mod expands.

Automatic Save Data

Historical calendar, age amd family role data are saved automatically, allowing your timeline and household setup to continue between game sessions.

The mod also keeps an automatic backup of valid save data. If the main save data becomes corrupted, Ultimate Decades Assistant will attempt to recover it from the backup.

If neither the main save nor its backup can be recovered, the mod will safely create new save data and display a warning.

The save system also automatically cleans up obsolete Sim records when they are no longer needed, while preserving records that still contain relevant Ultimate Decades data.

Currently Supported Historical Content

The mod is being expanded chronologically through Morbid's Ultimate Decades Challenge.

Currently supported:

1300s - The Middle Ages

• Historical age and life-stage system;
• Labor and birth roll reminders;
• Life-stage survival/death rolls reminders;
• End of Life reminders;
• Historical age support for dogs, cats, and horses;
• Historical aging milestones for dogs and cats;
• 14th-century historical events and their corresponding notifications, instructions, and roll reminders;
• Heir and Secondary Family Member role tracking;
• Marriage and Pregnancy Roll reminders for Secondary Family Members in the active household.

Future updates will continue expanding the mod through later historical periods of the challenge.

Make sure both Custom Content and Mods and Script Mods Allowed are enabled in the game settings.

Installation

1. Download the mod.
2. Extract the archive.
3. Place the mod files in: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods
4. Make sure the required dependencies are installed.
5. Start or restart The Sims 4.
