Created and Developed by Rei Wanderley
MAIN FEATURES
Dynamic Art Market
ArtMarket creates a living art economy where registered paintings can appreciate or depreciate over time.
Each artistic style has its own independent market index:
- Abstract
- Classic
- Impressionism
- Pop Art
- Realism
- Surrealism
Market cycles are processed automatically throughout the Sim day. Reports show market conditions, changed paintings, appreciation, depreciation, total balance and performance by artistic style.
Market Value Limits
Each painting has a maximum registered market value based on its quality:
- Poor: up to §250
- Normal: up to §1,000
- Good: up to §3,000
- Excellent: up to §10,000
- Masterpiece: up to §20,000
These limits apply only to the painting’s registered market value.
Auction bids and Collector Offers may exceed the quality-based market value cap.
Artist Prestige
Artists earn Prestige by creating valuable paintings and Masterpieces.
Prestige includes:
- Individual artist progression
- Artistic titles
- Permanent value bonuses
- Detailed Prestige reports
- Highest title: Master of the Arts
Only artists who reach Master of the Arts can create an Artistic Movement.
Auctions
Paintings can be submitted to the ArtMarket auction system.
The auction system includes:
- Auction queue
- Active auction
- Scheduled bids
- Reserve value
- Final payment
- Auction history
- Queue cancellation
- Context-sensitive menus
Auction options only appear when there is a relevant painting waiting in the queue or participating in an active auction.
Collector Offers
Master of the Arts painters may receive special offers from collectors.
Collector Offers include:
- Limited-time negotiations
- Offers based on the artwork’s market value
- Additional bonuses for special paintings
- Accept and decline options
- Sale value and date records
- Historical preservation for Founding Artworks
Collector payments may exceed the registered market value limit.
Artistic Movements
A Master of the Arts can create one Artistic Movement at a time.
Available movement styles include:
- Abstract
- Classic
- Impressionism
- Pop Art
- Realism
- Surrealism
The Artistic Movement menu allows you to:
- Create an Artistic Movement
- View the current Artistic Movement
- Add Artwork
- Remove Artwork
- Delete the Artistic Movement
After deleting a movement, the Sim may create another movement using the same style or a different one.
Deleting an Artistic Movement is permanent and requires confirmation. Movement records, Founding Artworks, public labels, sales history, cultural influence and related Eternal Gallery legacy data are removed.
Existing physical paintings are not destroyed. They only lose their connection to the movement.
Artistic Movement Reports
The View Artistic Movement option includes:
- Movement Summary
- Movement Artworks
- Founding Artworks
- Movement Progress
Reports show information such as:
- Founder
- Main artistic style
- Creation date
- Current level
- Cultural Influence
- Linked artworks
- Active and sold artworks
- Current artwork value
- Total sales
- Progress toward the next movement level
Founding Artworks
Artworks linked to the creation of an Artistic Movement can receive the public label:
[Founding Artwork]
The system preserves:
- Artwork name
- Artist
- Quality
- Style
- Founding value
- Last known value
- Current status
- Sale method
- Amount received
- Sale date and time
Sold Founding Artworks can remain recorded as part of the movement’s legacy.
Cultural Influence
Artistic Movements can influence the market index of their main artistic style.
As the movement gains Influence, it can create cultural pressure that affects future market cycles and the value of related paintings.
Influence can be earned through:
- Artwork quality
- Auctions
- Collector Offers
- Movement events
Eternal Gallery
The Eternal Gallery is a global historical archive for the save.
It records important artworks and displays:
- Artwork name
- Artist
- Quality
- Style
- Artist Prestige at admission
- Entry date
- Current value
- Highest recorded value
- Active or preserved legacy status
The Eternal Gallery can be viewed by other households, even when the active Sim did not create the displayed artworks.

ArtMarket v8.7.0 uses a unified Sim date and time system across:
- Market cycles
- Artistic Movements
- Auctions
- Collector Offers
