Description

For the mod to work fully you need also XML injector (the current version). Otherwise some options will be unavailable.

This mod was created to work well for base game only but for full potential it requires Jungle Adventure and Island Living.

Selvadoradian Museum option will show up only if you have Jungle Adventure
Sulani Museum option will show up only if you have Island Living
SimNation Museum stays Base Game compatible

With this mod you can work as Archaeologist/Palaeontologist, take assignments any time you want, go to Selvadorada any time you want and don't worry about days off limit (cause as a freelancer you simply don't have "days off" as such, you work - you earn, you don't work - you don't earn ;) )

There are 3 museums that you can choose as your employer:

- SimNation Museum of Natural History - for base game players mostly (doesn't require any expansion)

- Selvadoradian Museum of History and Culture - for those who have Jungle Adventure

- Treasures of Sulani Museum - for those who have Island Living (assigments include also the ones for base game).

This career works as other freelancer careers. For example there are 20 various assignments to choose from for Selvadoradian Museum - of course there is no guarantee which one will appear on your list on the given day - this is random.

With salaries for tasks with necessary trip to Selvadorada I tried to take into account the rent price and equipment, but the assigment might not be profitable in certain situations (e.g. when value of treasure is higher than salary from assignment) - but I hope it will be very rare case.

I tried to make gameplay for basegame players meaningful - so 20 new interactions were created to make it possible.

I also added an interaction "Run Paleontological excavation" to square planters. So now, if there are no digging sites spawning in the worlds, you can place a square planter and simply use this interaction.

With the update from 27.08.2026 I added new interaction that will help out in some tasks - "Search area". Once used, it might spawn new rock for a dig site.

Conflict - ATTENTION

2 files were modified for this mod to work:

If any other mod modifies it - mods will conflict. In such case - inform me, so I could adjust my mod.

Also there is quite high chance that I will need to update this mod (those 2 files specifically) for each patch (this already happened for this patch, the update is very easy, but just for your attention that there is this risk).

KNOWN ISSUE:

If you already used this mod before, and you decide to delete it, it will probably trigger a Last Exception report at first launch of the game after mod deletion! It's because with removal of the mod, a specific code added by this mod will disappear and game will think this change is an error. But it's not. Save the game and the error should not reappear. The same might happen when I upload a fix of this mod after the patch.
